how did miss hearing boris? seriously, was i being punished? i'm a long-time fand of the melvins, and i've always liked that they put out such different-sounding records, and aren't afraid to let being heavy heavy monsters get in the way of arty experimentation. boris seems to be much the same, except with a strong jap-psych element (and therefore krautrock-informed). this is something i needed to hear a long time ago.

and with the heaviest female in music. wata is a guitar god. she plays guitar like she could crush your skull with it and then rewire your neurons with a broken guitar string, tho she appears to be a perfectly ordinary-looking japanese woman. other times she plays neutron-star washes behind tribal beats and grooves heavy as gravity waves. if there isn't a wata cult, i don't understand why not.
